There are events, and then there are events that actually mean something. Playing in My Shoes is the latter — and Domino's Windsor is proud to be part of it.

This Sunday, our truck will be parked at Patillo Apple Orchard, 180 Patillo Rd, serving fresh pizzas all afternoon while Windsor-Essex comes together for one of the most unique community experiences we've been part of.

What Is Playing in My Shoes?

Playing in My Shoes is a disc golf event presented by Innova Disc Golf to mark the first day of Accessibility Week in Canada. The concept is simple but powerful: every participant plays from someone else's perspective.

That means throwing a disc from a wheelchair. With your non-dominant arm. With a blindfold on. With earplugs in. With your hand taped.

Five challenge throws, each designed to help you feel — not just understand — what it means to navigate a sport when it was not built for your body. It is humbling, eye-opening, and a lot of fun all at once.

Where Is Patillo Apple Orchard?

If you have not been to Patillo Apple Orchard before, you are not alone — and that is exactly why we want to talk about it.

Located at 180 Patillo Rd in the Windsor-Essex area, Patillo Apple Orchard is one of those quietly beautiful spots that most locals have driven past without stopping. It is the kind of place that makes you wonder why you waited so long to visit.

This Sunday it becomes the backdrop for Playing in My Shoes — and we think once you see it, you will want to come back.

What to Expect on the Day

The event runs from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. There is no disc golf experience required and the event is open to all ages. Bring your family, bring a friend, or come on your own — the course is welcoming to everyone.

The Domino's Windsor truck will be on-site with fresh pizzas available throughout the afternoon. Come hungry.
